where two or three are gathered: writer’s workshop

As we near the end of this first month of Where Two or Three are Gathered, I have to say it has been with great joy that I have scrolled the pages of your sites, getting to know each of you and getting to watch as you grow to know one another.

Where Two or Three are Gathered...a different kind of blog hop!

Here is the plan for month two. If you have been part of our first group, you are more than welcome to join me again. If you have enjoyed your experience, you may (MAY, you do not have to do this…remember there are no strings attached here!) decide to invite some other bloggers whose work you enjoy to join us. The size of the group for month two will remain a maximum of twenty participants.

Let me know in the comments if you would like to continue and if you have any thoughts about how this experience has been for you so far, (I know, it’s only been three weeks. I’m a planner.) joys, challenges, feel free to share those too. Then, remember to come back on the 20th to see who will be joining us for another 30/31 days of fun!

If you are new here and are wondering what in the world I’m talking about, check out this post and this one too, for more information.

Now, onto the writer’s workshop part…(It is in the title you know.)

Writing every day has been a bit of a challenge for me. Time is often scarce, not to mention ideas. Below you will find a list of writer’s workshop type prompts that I may use to draw from in the next few weeks. You are welcome to take them for your own as well.

take a picture of your life and talk about all of the reasons you love that photo

describe a time when you overcame a challenge

write about your favorite accessory (this need not be something you wear) 🙂

share your earliest childhood memory

talk about words that make you squirm

show us your day in pictures; take one photo every hour from the time you wake until the time you sleep

tell us all the things you wish you could do

share a song or songs that evoke memories

explain things of which you have too much

write a post using only questions

offer a prayer for your children, your spouse, your friend

make a list of your least favorite things

brag just a little…tell about your best, non wedding, non child related, day up to this point

highlight a commercial you love, or one that makes you want to throw things

write a story, short, fictional

make a list of questions and imagine how someone you know might answer them…then dare to really ask!

share something that makes you so mad you want to scream…or cry…or both

If in your comments today, you would also share a few of your own ideas to add to my list, that would be AWESOME! Thank you!

I want you to see life the way I see it. Often contradictory, seldom predictable, many times lovely, occasionally tragic, but every day filled with God's grace.

  1. Great ideas for writing! I don’t write everyday, but I can definitely see how that would be a challenge. I’ve really enjoyed the “where two or three are gathered” and would like to participate again. Thanks for visiting and commenting on my blog this month! 🙂

  2. You ideas are so good. Thank you for sharing them, I needed some help on ideas! I’m in .

    Ideas:

Tell a story of a Random Act of Kindness that you either were the giver or receiver.

Celebrate someone. Choose an individual and make them feel special and celebrate them!

    🙂

  3. I have truly been blessed the last few weeks by participating in this group. Everyone has been so kind and encouraging and while I haven’t been able to give as much as I have received I will do better in the coming weeks. (Job, travel, and school preparation). I don’t write every day either and lately I have struggled with ideas, but wow! You have several here for me to think about! Thanks for including me in this group!

    • Angie, yea! I would love to read more of your thoughts but am so glad that this community has been an encouraging force for you. Write when you can. We’ll be here. 🙂

  4. Heather, I would love to join in for month 2. It has been such an enjoyment visiting others blogs. While I admit that I haven’t been able to make it to every blog every week like I’d hoped, I know I was fulfilled at each and ever blog I visited. Thanks for hosting this again and count me in!

  5. What a lovely collection of writing prompts!

Thanks for sharing (and for linking up to the #SHINEbloghop).

    Wishing you a lovely weekend.
    xoxo

  6. I would love to take part in the 2nd month, if there’s still room for me! I should have a lot more time to spend on others blogs once school is back in session here. Let me know!
