just sayin’

I’m a better mother to my fifth than I was to my first. I am more likely to take the time to notice the little things about my new little one than I did with any of my others. Perhaps it is because I’ve figured out how to just let everything else be…for a bit.

There are parts of babies bodies that are cuter than others and exponentially even more so than the corresponding parts on adults. You would never talk about how cute an adult’s tongue is. That would just be creepy. But babies, specifically my baby, has the cutest little tongue.

That God can and does craft each part of her is remarkable. It is no surprise that from two cells combining to form one, every other cell in the body is made, including the cells that formed her tongue. That one cell becomes the cells of her brain and her bones and her liver and her hair. It’s no surprise, because the God who created her isn’t just in it for that one day of conception. He spent nine months working on crafting her in the womb and still works on her today.

To you who doubts that there is a God, I have proof. I have a four month old.

I want you to see life the way I see it. Often contradictory, seldom predictable, many times lovely, occasionally tragic, but every day filled with God's grace.

  1. Excellent and lovely all at once! And so true!

  2. What a lovely blog! I love your humorous way of wording things….like the part about the bi-polar squirrel. LOL! So happy you stopped by my blog today, so I could find yours. God bless you!

  3. Love it! And yeah, it would be weird to compliment an adult on their tongue but just to be weird I might try it at church on Sunday.

your comments are better than eating chocolate in a hammock on a 70 degree day...almost
