“Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.” 1 Thessalonians 5:11
We had some lovely, together, don’t have it all figured out but know God does, college kids over for dinner last night. They are taking classes and working and super busy, so they aren’t headed home for the summer, and weren’t with their own fathers on Father’s Day. They spent the evening with us. It was a joy to have them. They have been attending our new church for some time. We are just getting to know them.
We are just getting to know everyone. One of our goals throughout the next year is to have each family from our congregation join us for dinner. It’s a lofty goal, but one that I pray will prove itself to be to the glory of God and for the good of this little piece of His kingdom.
As we sat in the pew yesterday before the service, a little man who was in our home last Sunday night, nuzzled up to my son and brought his family with him. JOY! This is good, very good.
As you sit in the pew next week. Look to your right, then look to your left. Look at the pew behind you and the one in front of you and if you have not sat at a table and shared food and fellowship with those that you see, take action!
Then, come back here and tell me how it went!
